About the role
Our national Architecture Services team provides Architectural services that clients, sales and other internal business units can consume. The Architecture Services team is responsible for creating, maintaining, and overseeing the integrity of end-to-end technology designs and solutions ensuring they address specific opportunity and project business requirements. The work within the team predominantly consists of client-facing pre-sales and project-related activity.
With growth in our Architecture Services team, we are now seeking a Principal Solutions Architect to join our local team in WA
The role of the Principal Solution Architect is to proactively engage with internal direct sales staff, technical teams, and external customers (existing and potential) to understand customer business and technical requirements either directly or through tender processes. The Principal Solution Architect works within the client’s space as the solution lead on proposals, bid responses and designs. By leveraging their broad technology experience, architecture principles and practices the Principal Solution Architect will then present compelling proposals and ultimately a successful outcome for both customers and NEC.
Primary Accountabilities
- Apply a client-centric approach to all aspects of work
- Liaise with customers to build trusted advisor relationships and establish business requirements
- Design technology solutions that meet specific business, commercial, infrastructure or functional requirements
- Function as Technical Lead during the sales process while providing solution design and accurate cost inputs for proposals and major bids
- Lead virtual technical teams from Architecture Services and Delivery when constructing complex solutions through the bid response process.
- Build organisational capability by guiding and mentoring less experienced team members
Skills and Experience
- Significant experience in presales, design, and implementation of technology solutions particularly in the Cisco space
- Strong customer facing skills, with previous experience in both presales and implementation
- The ability to engage people across at all levels of business and manage stakeholder expectations
- Blend of technical, commercial, and consulting experience
- Demonstratable knowledge of the installation and configuration of technology solutions
- Experience with positioning and solutioning Managed Services solutions
- Working within a major bid team and its processes
- 10+ years demonstrable architectural experience developing and delivering complex solutions
- Proven ability to create compelling proposals and value propositions
- Adept at negotiation and strong influencing / persuasion skills
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage lengthy, complex sales cycles
- Experience with Miller Heiman or other sales methodologies
Qualifications
- Certifications in AWS, Microsoft Azure is preferred.
- Certifications in Cisco, HPE, Aruba, Fortinet preferred.
- Certifications in architecture methodologies such as TOGAF.
