About the Role
NEC is expanding its presence in Western Australia and is looking for a System Engineer to join our Field Services Team in Perth. This is an outstanding opportunity to work with a global technology leader and contribute to delivering high-quality, innovative ICT services for enterprise and government customers.
In this role, you will provide on-site and remote support for NEC and multi-vendor voice and data environments. You will be responsible for incident resolution, network installations, and project delivery across a range of technologies including IP data networks, IP Telephony (IP Tel), Unified Communications (UC) systems and Biometrics. You will ensure operational availability and meet service level expectations, working with some of the best technology in the industry.
A Tool of Trade Vehicle will be offered as part of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site and remote support for data networks, IP Telephony (IP Tel), Unified Communications (UC) environments & Biometrics Solutions.
- Install, commission, and support NEC and multi-vendor voice & data infrastructure.
- Resolve incidents and manage project deliveries to ensure service availability.
- Work with a diverse range of technologies, including Cisco, Aruba, MS Teams and Voice over IP (VoIP).
Preferred Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, managing and troubleshooting data and IP telecommunications networks in large corporate environments.
- Demonstrable experience with IP-based networks, Cisco and Aruba routing and switching platforms.
- Experience with Cisco and UC-based IP Tel networks is preferred.
- Cisco Wi-Fi and Aruba Wi-Fi knowledge highly desirable.
- Experience with MS Teams and Voice over IP desirable.
- Ekahau Wi-Fi Survey experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of Cisco and Aruba hardware (including peripheral’s i.e. Optic Fibre, SFP’s etc.)
- Data Centre knowledge

- Ability to prioritise tasks and self-manage your time effectively.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve technical issues.
- Proven expertise in ICT project delivery and support.
- Capacity to learn and adapt to innovative technologies.
- Strong customer service and focus on quality outcomes.
Qualifications Preferred:
- Degree or certification in IT or a related field.
- Cisco Associate-Level Certifications (CCNA, CCNA Voice) or equivalent.
- Ekahau certification is a plus.
- OH&S Construction Induction (White Card) preferred.
- ITIL Foundations Certificate is beneficial.
Additional Requirements:
- Current driver’s license
- Availability for on-call and after-hours support.
- National Police Clearance
- Australian citizenship (NV1 security clearance is highly regarded).
