About the role
We're seeking a hands-on Applications Engineer to deliver and support NEC's critical emergency services platforms across our national customer base.
This is a technical role where you’ll be actively involved in building, deploying, and troubleshooting real-world systems, not just coordinating or overseeing delivery. You’ll work directly on live operational environments, ensuring mission-critical solutions perform when it matters most.
You’ll take ownership of end-to-end engineering activities, including building, commissioning, upgrading, and supporting systems such as Control Room technologies and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) platforms, while managing delivery tasks through Azure DevOps.
What You’ll Do
- Build, commission, and upgrade NEC Control Room systems.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software and integration in real-time.
- Support projects from start to finish, managing tasks via Azure DevOps.
- Perform upgrades, patching, and system optimisation.
- Maintain and enhance engineering documentation, standards, and processes.
- Provide technical support and coach team members, share knowledge across teams.
- Join a 24/7 on-call roster, delivering exceptional customer service (with travel as required).
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years in similar roles
- Experience in the operating IT systems for the Emergency Services sector.
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Experience working within project delivery environments
- Excellent communication skills + ITIL processes
