Networking Apprentice

The Basic Networking & Linux Apprentice will support the IT and Network Operations team in day-to-day infrastructure activities while undergoing structured training in networking fundamentals and Linux system administration. This role is designed to build a strong foundation in enterprise IT operations through hands-on learning under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Networking (Basic Level)
- Understand and assist in basic networking concepts such as OSI model, TCP/IP, IP addressing, subnetting, DNS, and DHCP
- Support basic network configuration and troubleshooting activities
- Assist in monitoring network connectivity and reporting issues
- Maintain basic documentation related to network configurations and changes
Linux / System Administration
- Perform basic Linux operations including:
- File and directory management
- User and group management
- File permissions and ownership
- Process monitoring
- Execute basic shell commands under supervision
- Assist in checking system logs and service status
- Support routine system health checks
General Responsibilities
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and security guidelines
- Participate in training sessions, labs, and knowledge-sharing activities
- Escalate issues to senior engineers when required
- Maintain proper documentation of assigned tasks
- Demonstrate willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
Required Skills & Knowledge
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of computer networks
- Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems
- Familiarity with command-line interface (CLI) is preferred
- Awareness of IT infrastructure concepts is an advantage

- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision

Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or pursuing) in:
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Electronics & Communication
- Or any related technical discipline
Experience
- Fresher
- Internship or academic lab exposure is an added advantage
