Role Overview

We are seeking a bilingual Project Manager (Japanese/English) with experience in IT projects. The Project Manager will play a key role in requirement gathering and analysis, specification preparation, project planning, and coordination with both customer stakeholders and internal engineering teams. This role requires strong communication skills in Japanese (reading and writing) to effectively manage customer interactions and ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers to explore and clarify business and technical requirements.
  • Perform requirement analysis and ensure alignment with customer objectives.
  • Prepare requirement specifications or collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to finalize documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including engineering and operations, to ensure requirements are well understood and implemented.
  • Manage project activities including planning, estimation, scheduling, execution, and tracking.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders in both Japanese and English.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards, timelines, and budget expectations.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Japanese (reading and writing).
  • 10+ years of experience in IT project management, including requirement gathering and analysis.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional technical teams.
  • Solid understanding of project management practices (scope, estimation, planning, tracking, risk management).
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification.
  • ITIL or equivalent service management knowledge.
  • Familiarity with agile or hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Prior experience working with Japanese enterprise customers.
