Job Title: Assistant Project Manager – Network Support

Job Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager – Network Support will support planning, execution, and monitoring of network operations and projects, ensuring timely delivery, service availability, and coordination between internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders. The role focuses on day-to-day network support, issue tracking, reporting, and assisting the Project Manager in managing network-related activities across field and data center environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in planning and executing network support activities for WAN, LAN, MPLS, and DC networks.
  • Coordinate with network operations teams, ISPs, and OEM partners for incident resolution, changes, and maintenance activities.
  • Track network incidents, escalations, RCA submissions, and closure timelines.
  • Monitor network availability, uptime, and performance KPIs as per SLAs.
  • Support rollout, migration, and stabilization activities for network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Maintain project documentation including network diagrams, inventory, change logs, and reports.
  • Assist in managing vendor deliverables, approvals, and compliance with project scope.
  • Prepare daily/weekly status reports, MOMs, and dashboards for management and client reviews.
  • Support Go-Live readiness, cutover planning, and post-implementation stabilization activities.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and security policies.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / IT / Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 3–7 years of experience in network support or IT infrastructure projects.
  • Good understanding of networking concepts: LAN, WAN, MPLS, VPN, routing & switching.
  • Experience working with ISPs, government projects, or large enterprise networks is a plus.
  • Strong coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with ticketing tools, NMS, and basic project tracking tools.

Preferred Skills:

  • Exposure to Smart City / ITS / ICCC projects.
  • Knowledge of network monitoring tools (Zabbix, SolarWinds, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of project management methodologies.

Technical Project Management requires specific technical knowledge to plan, organize, and control resources, procedures, and timing for a technical process or project including:

  • Developing detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports, conducting risk analysis and monitoring the progress of plans against project milestones and budgets
  • Providing technical and analytical guidance to the project team
  • Ensuring adherence to quality standards and review of project deliverables
  • Analyzing and documenting requirements by liaising with a range of users in the organization
  • On some projects, where applicable, manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverablesSpecialization Match Note: Para-Professional incumbents update/maintain project schedules and associated resource plans and prepares progress reports. Para-Professional support may be in a Project Management Office (PMO) environment supporting multiple IT Projects.
