Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Test Lead to join our offshore team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, in-depth knowledge of the banking domain, and expertise in both manual and automation testing. Experience with Japanese language is a plus. The Test Lead will be responsible for end-to-end test management, issue tracking, diligent follow-ups, management reporting, and effective team and stakeholder management.

 

Job Description /Responsibilities:

Test Planning & Execution

    • Develop comprehensive test strategies, plans, and schedules aligned with project requirements.
    • Lead and execute both manual and automated testing activities across multiple projects.
    • Ensure thorough test coverage and adherence to quality standards.
  • Issue Tracking & Resolution
    • Closely monitor, track, and report defects and issues throughout the testing lifecycle.
    • Diligently follow up with development and support teams to ensure timely resolution of defects.
  • Communication & Reporting
    • Provide clear, concise, and timely updates to management and stakeholders through regular reports and status meetings.
    • Prepare and present management reports on test progress, quality metrics, and risk assessments.
  • Team & People Management
    • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of testers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
    • Oversee resource allocation, workload distribution, and team development activities.

 

  • Stakeholder Management
    • Build strong working relationships with onshore/offshore teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
    • Proactively manage expectations and address concerns to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to optimize testing processes and tools.
    • Promote best practices in quality assurance and testing methodologies.

 

Technical Skills (Mandatory):

  • 6+ years of experience in software testing, including at least 2 years in a test lead or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of banking and financial services domain (mandatory).
  • Proficiency in manual and automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, QTP, JMeter, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience in issue tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
  • Demonstrated ability to track issues closely and follow up diligently until resolution.
  • Proven experience in team management, people management, and stakeholder management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with Japanese clients or in Japanese business environments.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

ISTQB/ CSTE or equivalent certification

Specialization Description

Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints. Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems. Coordinates integrated testing activities. Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program. Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.
