Role Summary: Responsible for leading the transition and team establishment for the BOT model supporting Payment Hub (ISO20022) system maintenance. The Project Manager will oversee planning, onboarding, training coordination, delivery governance, and team performance during the initial build and operate phase. This role ensures smooth operational transition from Japan-side teams, while building a stable foundation for long-term capability development in India under the BOT framework.
Job Description /Responsibilities:
- Lead the management for BOT transition activities for Payment Hub system maintenance from NEC to MGS (Mizuho Global Services).
- Ensure readiness for eventual BOT transfer milestones in collaboration with MGS and NEC leadership.
- Coordinating all necessary preparations for the transfer to MGS, such as facility setup, environment readiness, and HR‑related arrangements.
- Develop and manage project plans covering recruitment, training/OJT, knowledge transfer, and operational readiness, with support from the existing Senior Manager.
- Coordinate with Japan-side stakeholders for schedule alignment, task clarification, and delivery expectations.
- Manage daily operations for Test Lead, Test Engineers and future roles (e.g. Application Engineers, System Administrators and so on).
- Track progress, prepare daily/weekly status reports, and ensure timely escalation of issues and risks.
- Facilitate KT (Knowledge Transfer) sessions, maintain transition-related documentation, and monitor competency ramp-up.
- Lead execution governance including quality control, change management, and process adherence.
- Plan and maintain resource allocation, including attrition buffer management and productivity tracking.
- Drive communication across cross-functional teams in Japan and India.
Technical Skills (Mandatory):
- Solid experience managing IT operations or application support projects (preferably in financial systems).
- Deep understanding of the Waterfall software development lifecycle (SDLC), including phase gates (Requirements → Basic Design → Detailed Design → Build/Unit Test → Integration Test → System Test → UAT → Release), deliverables, quality gates, and change management.
- Understanding of software testing processes and Linux/Unix-based operational environments (RHEL/AIX).
- Experience managing multi-role technical teams (QA, Test, Application Support, Infra).
- Strong project management capabilities including planning, risk management, and stakeholder alignment.
- Ability to understand operation manuals, technical specifications, and workflows in English.
- Experience with tools such as JIRA, MS Project, and Teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with payment systems, ISO20022, or banking/financial platforms.
- Familiarity with BOT/Managed Services transitions or offshore delivery setup.
- Hands-on understanding of test processes and automation environments (Playwright/Selenium etc.).
- Exposure to RHEL/AIX operational processes, deployment workflows, and patch management.
- Experience collaborating with Japanese organizations; Japanese language skills a plus.
- PMP, CSM, ITIL Foundation, or related certifications preferred.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent.
- PMP/Prince2/ITIL certifications strongly preferred.
- Additional certifications in project management or service delivery are a plus.
