Role Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Engineer to support COE lab operations, system setup, testing environments, and troubleshooting activities. The candidate will play a key role in maintaining lab infrastructure, enabling testing for 4G/5G solutions, and ensuring smooth execution of test scenarios in Linux-based environments.


Responsibilities:

  • Set up, configure, and maintain telecom lab environments for 4G/5G testing. 
  • Install, configure, and manage Linux-based systems and network components in the lab. 
  • Support test teams by preparing and validating testbed infrastructure. 
  • Monitor lab systems and ensure availability and stability of test environments. 
  • Perform basic functional and integration testing support. 
  • Assist in capturing and analyzing network traffic using tools like Wireshark. 
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues within the lab. 
  • Maintain lab inventory, documentation, and configuration records. 
  • Support automation of repetitive lab tasks using scripting (Shell/Python) on need basis.
  • Coordinate with testing, development, and operations teams for issue resolution. 
  • Ensure lab compliance with defined standards and safety guidelines. 

 

           Required Skills & Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field). 
  • Strong knowledge of Linux fundamentals with hands-on system commands. 
  • Basic understanding of 4G/5G technologies and telecom architecture. 
  • Understanding of OSI and TCP/IP models. 
  • Knowledge of IP networking concepts (IP addressing, subnetting, routing). 
  • Familiarity with protocols such as TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS. 
  • Experience with networking tools (ping, traceroute, netstat, etc.). 
  • Basic understanding of packet flow and troubleshooting techniques. 
  • Exposure to packet capture tools (e.g., Wireshark) is preferred. 
  • Basic scripting knowledge (Shell/Python) is an advantage.
