Description: 

Summary -

Responsible for reviewing customer requirements and providing technical support to the project management team. Responsible to closely monitor the optical standards / specifications and provide technical input to the related product development groups. Assist in the review and execution of test plans and test procedures to verify system requirements.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities -

  • Assist in Implementation planning of network components of subsea cable systems (5%)
  • Knowledge of installation and in-station testing of Terminal Station and Outside Plant Equipment (30%)
  • Assist with Commissioning and Acceptance testing of subsea cable systems (30%)
  • Integrate with marine installation team during cable landings (15%)
  • Assist with the review of technical deliverables as they relate to compliance of specification, laws and regulations (10%)
  • Follow instruction from senior members and work together with our partners to streamline project goals and efficiencies (10%)

 

Prerequisites -

Education:

Associate’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent

Experience:

Fiber optic installation, testing, splicing and troubleshooting. Broad knowledge of integration and test requirements, digital communications system operations, applications, product features, functions, specifications, configurations, product life-cycle processes and knowledge of design theory, and architecture.  Knowledge of Optical Standards and technologies are essential. Must be able to work in a multi-tasking environment and have good communications skills.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000 to $108,000.  Depending upon the selected candidate’s relevant experience, the exact salary for the role may fall outside of this range. This role will also be eligible to participate in the Company’s bonus/incentive program(s).
