Oracle Support Engineer (Bilingual English/Japanese)

Summary

As a member of technical support engineering team, responsible for planning, processing, and performing all jobs in an efficient manner with no assistance from the supervisor. Provide recommendations to management concerning issues of technical support productivity and software system development management.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

40% Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues of software products.

30% Suggest and provide solutions to improve technical support productivity.

20% Design, develop and maintain internal/external systems.

10% Other tasks:

  • Lead and contribute to team discussions such as support review meetings. Assist with bug investigation and/or build reproducible case. Help Japanese team in setting up test environment, resolving build issues.

Prerequisites

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related IT majors.

Experience: 2-3 years of experience in technical support, development or software quality assurance.

Certifications, Licenses, etc.: Oracle OCA/OCP related certifications are plus.

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Language Skills: Fluent in Japanese is essential and Proficient in English is essential to support clients in Japan.

Mathematical Skills: Basic Math.

Reasoning Skills: Must have a strong Trouble Shooting skill. Ability to work on complex technical problem interfacing directly with customers.

Computer and/or Technical Skills: Must love to learn new technologies and its software architecture. 

At least one of the following hands-on experience and knowledge are essential:

  • Strong ORACLE Database or SQL Server administration skill.
  • UNIX, Linux and Windows Server administration and troubleshooting.
  • Python, SQL, PL/SQL, JDBC or Web programming with RDBMS.

 

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Location: Preferred Irving, TX. Remote work is also considered.

General Work Environment: 

  • Physical ability to operate in an office environment is essential. 
  • Ability to work on holidays is essential. 
  • Ability to work at home environment is optional.

Noise: Quiet office environment. Quiet home office environment is required.

Standing/Lifting: Up to 20 lbs.

Visual: Use the computer monitors most of the time.

Stress: Must be able to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.

Travel: Occasional travel to Japan may be required.

Supervisory Responsibility, if any: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Shift 8 hours/day & 5 days/week (10:00am - 7:00pm CDT with 1h lunch)

 

The anticipated salary range for this position is $65,000 to $85,00 with a target annual 7.5% bonus; depending upon the selected candidate’s relevant experience, the exact salary for the role may fall outside of this range. This role will also be eligible to participate in the Company’s bonus/incentive program(s).
