The Systems Administrator - Criminal History is an on on-site position at the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations Division in London, OH

In this role, you will provide first-line support to end-users the Criminal Justice applications and Biometrics Identification systems. The position requires experience with Linux and Active Directory. Oracle experience would also be a nice plus.  Systems include biometric and criminal history databases, analyzing reports and statistical data. State level Computerized Criminal History (CCH) and Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) applications and databases are utilized for research and evaluation.

 

Duties:

  • Respond to support requests from end-users via phone, onsite and remote access, ticketing system, and email
  • Accurately and efficiently assess the customer's request to determine severity & priority of application deficiencies and bugs
  • Define, research, and resolve or escalate customer issues in a timely and accurate manner (including routing technical and non-technical issues appropriately)
  • Provide prompt and timely updates to customers, colleagues, and management on outstanding issues
  • Adhere to Support Center processes and procedures, contribute to growing/updating the knowledge base
  • Act as liaison between customers, colleagues, management, and other technical and non-technical users

 

This is a responsible technical and professional position. Job duties include evaluating criminal arrest information and subsequent dispositions at various stages through the criminal justice process.  This work will involve ongoing contact with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation Division in London, OH as well as NEC onsite engineers to ensure a complete and accurate flow of biometric and criminal history information is maintained throughout the criminal history process.

Review of criminal history processes, updating criminal history databases, preparation of reports and maintaining statistical data. Field research may be required to ensure a final disposition is obtained and an accurate criminal history record exists. Various criminal history systems, ranging from local record management systems to state and federal criminal history databases are utilized for research and evaluation. Work involves ongoing contact with law enforcement, prosecuting attorneys and court personnel to ensure a complete and accurate flow of criminal history information is maintained throughout the criminal history process. An employee in this position is responsible for the provision of training services to criminal justice and non-criminal justice personnel, developing manuals, training materials, and written correspondence.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience using the CPI OpenFox system.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $48,000 to $65,000 with a target annual 3% bonus; depending upon the selected candidate’s relevant experience, the exact salary for the role may fall outside of this range. This role will also be eligible to participate in the Company’s bonus/incentive program(s).
