The Role
The Business Development & Strategy VP, Avaloq Americas is a pivotal role responsible for establishing and expanding Avaloq's presence in the Americas. Working directly with the Head of Avaloq Americas, the Business Development Director will to drive sales and implementation operations to achieve product/market fit, build strategic partnerships, and ensure long-term customer success. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a major strategic initiative, laying the foundation for Avaloq's sustained growth in the Americas Financial Services marketplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Analysis and Business Development: Conduct market and competitor analysis. Build relationships with prospective clients to achieve product-market fit. Lead the pursuit of new business opportunities and negotiate strategic partnerships.
- Strategic Growth: Develop and implement strategic initiatives for business growth and market penetration. Mitigate potential challenges and coordinate cross-departmental efforts to ensure successful client delivery in the Americas. Develop growth and implementation KPIs in partnership with leadership.
- Sales and Revenue Generation: Expand the client base and implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability. Lead sales initiatives, pursue leads, and secure deals. Monitor market trends and collaborate with marketing to launch impactful campaigns.
- Performance and Financial Management: Partner with finance and strategy on deal structure, business model, budgeting, forecasting, and pricing. Provide financial insights for decision-making.
- Operational Setup: Establish a "lean" support model and infrastructure within the region to efficiently and effectively deliver and support new clients. This includes building partnerships with local third-party System Integration and Implementation/Support partners.
- Team Leadership: As the footprint grows, recruit, hire, and train a high-performing team to achieve performance targets. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Develop KPIs and performance reporting to hold the team accountable to goals.
- Operational Efficiency: Oversee the establishment of US operations, ensuring compliance and maintenance of operational infrastructure. Implement and monitor efficient workflow processes. Manage operational budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness and quality. Develop operations KPIs and customer satisfaction scoring and reporting.
- Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with industry partners to create value-added solutions. Negotiate with potential partners and leverage existing networks to generate new partnership leads. Build and maintain long-term relationships with key industry players.

Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in a Business Development leadership role in Financial Services - Banking or Wealth Management sectors.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience in cross-functional team leadership, relationship building with industry stakeholders, driving location strategy, scaled hiring/support models, and client segmentation/pricing strategy.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $203,000 - $263,500 with a target annual 35% bonus; depending upon the selected candidate’s relevant experience, the exact salary for the role may fall outside of this range. This role will also be eligible to participate in the Company’s bonus/incentive program(s).
