About the role
Technology & Sales Enablement is a core function of the Chief Technology Office, responsible for internal tooling, automation, integration, bid management, pricing & resource management. Technology Enablement is focused on providing the right tools, automation & integration architecture to support our delivery teams. Sales Enablement is focused on driving an efficient and accurate bid process through the sales lifecycle, driving increases in win rates and value for NEC Australia.
We are now looking to fill the new key role of Head of Technology & Sales Enablement in the team.
The Head of Technology & Sales Enablement is accountable for technology enablement for our DGDF delivery teams, as well as sales enablement via provision of key functions throughout the tender/bid lifecycle.
Technology Enablement will be via the Digital Systems Support team, who configure and support internal tooling used to support managed services customers. This role will focus on selection & adoption of fit for purpose tools, development of an integration architecture strategy to simplify adoption and ingestion of various software systems, and development of an end-to-end automation strategy to drive internal efficiencies and enable agile and contemporary service offerings.
Sales Enablement brings together the bid management, pricing and commercial enablement teams as key contributors during the sales lifecycle to improve our win rate of complex tenders and delivery of profitable growth for NEC. These functions work closely with the Architecture Services & Portfolio teams within the CTO Office, as well as governance functions within the COO team. The pricing team own and develop multiple calculators to support effective cost & price estimation for projects, managed services and packaged solutions, with regular engagement with delivery teams to ensure on-going alignment of what is priced versus what is delivered.
Key performance indicators are tooling service quality, automation efficiencies, bid/tender win rates and as-sold versus as-delivered cost analysis.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop a business function strategy including business plan & financials
- Manage the Digital Systems Support team in configuration & on-going management of nominated internal tools (used for customer delivery).
- Grow and foster the bid management team to streamline and win more complex, high-value tenders.
- Development of an end-to-end automation strategy to drive operational efficiencies and contemporise service delivery.
- Focus on lean cost base, agile delivery & responsiveness - Better, Faster, Cheaper.
- Manage the pricing function for DGDF, supporting complex tender costing/pricing, development of appropriate internal tools & calculators and continual alignment with our cost base.
- Negotiation lead for nominated large & complex tenders from shortlisting through to contract execution.
- Continuous improvement of the groups efficiency and effectiveness to reduce costs and introduce smarter ways of improving the NEC value proposition and delivering an improved customer experience
- Increasing the level of organisational capability through effective recruitment, training, coaching, counselling, workforce planning, performance management and leadership development, encouraging diversity, respect and cohesiveness
Required Skills and Experience
- Exceptional business and commercial acumen along with a proven track record of leading and managing a national team across multiple locations.
- Experience in financial management
- Extensive knowledge of contract management issues
- Customer facing and market driven, with a strong ability to influence
- Ability to take visionary thinking and communicate that in a meaningful way
- Proven Analytical, Problem Solving and Stakeholder Negotiation Skills
- Continuous Improvement Focus on Customer Experience and Company Profitability.
- Degree or relevant qualification in IT
