Senior Applications Engineer

The Senior Application Engineer is responsible for leading the implementation and development of the application systems required to meet the client’s business needs. This role involves close collaboration with Application Packagers, Infrastructure Engineers and Architects to ensure technical solutions are effectively delivered. The Senior Applications Engineer is responsible for mentoring and advising the Applications team in conjunction with the Applications Team Lead and Management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full lifecycle management of enterprise applications, including deployments, configuration, and monitoring of the applications environment.

• Diagnose and resolve complex application issues in collaboration with the Infrastructure Engineers, Security and Development teams.

• Lead root cause analysis into issues that affect the applications environment and implement long-term fixes.

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.

• Lead and coordinate application upgrades, patching, and migrations.

• Support project planning and peer review Change Controls relevant to the applications environment.

• Identify opportunities for automation, performance optimisation and process improvement.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with government stakeholders, project managers, and internal staff

What We’re Looking For:

• 10+ Years of experience in applications support, development, and hardware integration

• Thorough understanding and experience with on-premises SCCM/MECM infrastructure, cloud-based Intune device management and policy, and cloud-based Application management and deployment.

• Strong knowledge of enterprise applications, application delivery mechanisms and the environments that we maintain

• Proficient in database and scripting languages

• Excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills

• Familiarity with ITIL processes and standards

• Mentoring skills
