About the role
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our Network Management team. As a Network Engineer, you'll work on WAN, LAN, Firewalls, and Wireless technologies, providing on-site and remote support for projects, incident resolution, and service requests. Achieve high standards in customer service and quality within agreed service level agreements.
Key Duties

Deliver technical support for multiple clients in a managed services environment, specialising in Cisco and Fortinet technologies.

Configure and maintain routers, switches, wireless networks, and FortiGate firewalls across customer environments.

Manage escalations and coordinate with third-party service providers to resolve critical network outages.

Provide mentorship and guidance to Level 1 Network Engineers as needed.

Work closely with clients, system owners and other service providers as required as part of managing incidents, service requests and escalated issues following pre-defined processes accurately, in an ITIL environment.

Participate in an after-hours on-call roster to support network issues and perform preventative maintenance.

Monitor network health using management toolsets and raise incidents within agreed SLAs.

Carry out additional duties as required.
Skills & Experience
-
Minimum 2 years’ hands-on experience in network operations, including configuration, deployment, troubleshooting, and upgrades of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies.

Proven experience in analysing and implementing firewall change requests.

Familiarity with network management tools such as NNMi, SolarWinds, SCOM, and cPrime.

Solid understanding of networking principles and their practical application in enterprise environments.

Working knowledge and experience with Fortinet routers and firewalls.

Exposure to ITIL frameworks and experience working in ITIL-aligned environments.

Strong initiative and self-motivation, with excellent organisational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across all business levels.
