Business Application Analyst

NEC is seeking a Business Application Analyst to assist with the implementation and improvement of IT Operational and Service Management processes. Including but not limited too; Requirements gathering, Strong Stakeholder Engagement, Process documentation/Implementation

 

Experience required

  • Functional Business Analysis – Requirements elicitation, process automation, documentation
  • Deep understanding of the business analysis process, documentation of business requirements, development and testing of applications.
  • Significant experience performing requirements analysis using tools, methods and communication techniques to extract, develop, validate and document business requirements.
  • Problem solving skills that facilitate tackling complex ideas and interpreting ideas into conceptual business specifications.
  • Holding workshops, facilitating discussions and assisting business stakeholders to anticipate future needs and opportunities.
  • Modelling and data analysis, data migration and conversion, business systems testing.
  • Reporting, Dashboard development and preparing user guides.
  • Understanding of ITSM Process Implementation.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Engage stakeholders to gather, refine and document user requirements using various techniques which include but not limited to interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis;
  • Evaluate proposed system solutions in close liaison with system developers to ensure delivery of solutions is consistent with the departments expectations; 
  • Prepare system and user acceptance test plans and scripts and work with the Test Manager to ensure delivery of quality systems; 
  • Review and analyse business processes, re-engineer as necessary to improve efficiency, effectiveness and/or usability using strategic analysis techniques and process models; 
  • Operational process analysis;
  • Liaise with internal subject matter experts to assist in the design of functional solutions to effectively meet business requirements; 
  • Analyse data relationships and dependencies, business and service delivery processes and communication needs regarding existing and new systems;
  • Recommend and propose new systems/functionality to help realise business objectives;
  • Work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to prepare clear business objectives and system specifications for the design, development and enhancement of applications;
  • Write documentation and provide progress reports to management;
  • Provide accurate and timely progress reporting as required;
  • Review product documentation including implementation guides, help text and user guides.
  • Create and / or amend process flows, diagrams and documentation down to work instruction level

To be successful in this role you will have exceptional communication (written and verbal), negotiation and presentation skills whilst being able to build rapport quickly and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of a complex environment.
