NEC Australia is offering School-Based Apprenticeships (SBAs) and full-time Traineeships starting in late January 2026. Take a moment to check out the details below.

School-Based Apprenticeships (SBAs)

  • Open to students entering Year 12 in 2026, who have completed Stage 1 NTCET.

  • You’ll work 2 days per week, attend 1 day of VET study, and continue 2 days of school.

  • This is a great opportunity to gain real-world IT experience while completing your education.

 

Traineeships – Full-Time

Open to school leaders who have completed Year 12.

  • Full-time role with a 12-month paid traineeship.

  • You’ll gain hands-on experience while studying towards a nationally recognised Certificate III or Cert IV in Information Technology.

  • Training provider: Charles Darwin University (CDU) – class attendance is required.

 

What We’re Looking For

Successful applicants will demonstrate:

  • A strong willingness to learn and grow in the IT field

  • Great written, verbal, and communication skills

  • An organised and detail-oriented approach

  • A positive, friendly attitude and team mindset

  • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Windows & Office)

  • Ability to pass a National Police Check (18+ only)

  • A current (or willingness to obtain) NT Working with Children’s Card

** You are not eligible for an IT traineeship if you have completed a degree in IT.
